Follow these simple steps to install AirTerminal on your Mac

Installation Warning

AirTerminal is code verified by Apple and free from malware but Apple may block it due to security settings. Follow these visual guides to install AirTerminal on macOS

Download & Open DMG

After clicking the download button above, locate the downloaded .dmg file in your Downloads folder and double-click to open it. You may see a security warning initially.

  • File will be saved to your Downloads folder
  • Double-click the .dmg file to mount it
  • If you see a security warning, click "Done" for now

Drag to Applications

In the installer window, drag the AirTerminal app icon to the Applications folder to install it.

  • Click and hold the AirTerminal icon
  • Drag it to the Applications folder
  • Wait for the copy process to complete

Open System Preferences

After installation, you'll need to allow AirTerminal to run. Open System Preferences to access the security settings.

  • Click the Apple menu → System Preferences
  • Look for "Privacy & Security" or "Security & Privacy"
  • Search for "system settings" if needed

Open AirTerminal Security Dialog

In Privacy & Security, you'll see a dialog asking to open "AirTerminal". This confirms Apple's verification and gives you options to proceed.

  • You'll see "Open AirTerminal?" dialog
  • Apple explains it's free from malware
  • Choose "Open Anyway" to proceed

Allow AirTerminal & Launch

In the Privacy & Security panel, you'll see AirTerminal was blocked. Click "Open Anyway" to allow it to run.

  • Look for "AirTerminal was blocked to protect your Mac"
  • Click the "Open Anyway" button
  • Enter your password if prompted
  • AirTerminal will now launch successfully!

  • macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
  • 4GB RAM minimum (8GB recommended)
  • 2GB free disk space
  • Intel or Apple Silicon processor

Common issues and solutions

App is Damaged or Can't Be Opened

This is a common macOS security feature. Follow the steps above to go to Security & Privacy settings and click "Open Anyway".

Can't Find Security & Privacy Settings

On macOS Ventura and later, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security instead of System Preferences → Security & Privacy.

Application Won't Start

Make sure your Mac meets the minimum system requirements and that you have a stable internet connection. Try restarting your Mac if the issue persists.

DMG File Won't Open

Try downloading the file again. If the problem persists, check your Downloads folder for any corrupted files and delete them before re-downloading.
